lo — style with soul.

Meet Danielle aka "Lo".

Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, Lo's relationship with fashion has always been rooted in feeling rather than spectacle. Creative direction, for her, isn’t about making things look “cool.” It’s about intention. It’s about using clothing, environment, and detail to communicate something before anyone says a word. Silhouettes, textures, color, movement, lighting, setting — none of it is random. Every element plays a role in expressing identity and emotion.

When she’s directing a shoot, the priority isn’t perfection. It’s energy. She focuses on creating an environment where people feel inspired and comfortable, because authenticity shows up in images. When the people in the room feel good, the work feels alive. Cohesion comes from connection, not control.

Though Lo's passion is rooted in personal styling, she's no stranger to the camera. She also models for different campaigns, and being in front of the camera has changed how she directs and styles. She understands what it feels like to be seen, to be captured. She knows how fabric moves, how color reads, how lighting interacts with texture. And yes — she approaches shoots differently when she’s the subject versus when she’s behind the scenes.

Her personal style is simple: sporty, comfortable, and preppy with a street edge. She wants to feel relaxed. Her wardrobe speaks before she does. It tells the truth about who she is — honest, intentional, and rooted in ease.

She’s heavily influenced by the 80s and 90s athleisure era, along with timeless brands like Ralph Lauren and The Gap. She loves a classic look. Good denim. A solid sneaker. A hat that pulls it all together. Nothing forced. Nothing overthought.

Fashion, for her, is self-expression and storytelling at the same time. It’s how she shows people who she is without having to explain it.

"I like to create an environment where everyone feels inspired, so the final images feel authentic, cohesive, and full of life."

Lo has collaborated with classic brands like Wild Things and Oneness Boutique. She states that these collaborations didn’t come from formal pitches or cold emails. They came from real relationships. Longstanding connections. Those are her people. Her home team.

Lo also partnered on a photoshoot with Louisville Cream (not pictured), a local ice cream shop located in Louisville, KY. The Louisville Cream shoot came together after the owner reached out about collaborating. She loved the brand, loved ice cream, and respected what he was building. It felt like an easy yes. The vibe? Preppy with a little quirk.

Lo admits that she can be hard on herself. Most creatives are. But one moment for her that stands out is the Aleali May Jordan 1 shoot for Oneness. Everything aligned — the styling, the models, the overall vibe. Aleali even reposted the work, which felt surreal. More than that, it was one of her first shoots after giving birth to her daughter. It marked a return to herself. A reminder that she was still her, just in a new season.

When preparing for a collaboration, she always starts with a mood board. That’s the foundation. From there, everything builds naturally. Those partnerships taught her the importance of staying true to herself. Authenticity resonates more than anything else. The more intentional she’s been about who she is and how she shows up, the more opportunities have found her.

What makes the Louisville fashion and art scene special to her is its openness. It’s welcoming, energetic, and constantly inspiring. When it comes to creating opportunities for others, she believes in letting collaboration lead. Building together. Making room. Letting the magic happen organically.

Looking ahead, she hopes to work on more campaigns that align with her real life — sneakers, motherhood, and genuinely cool projects. She’s currently on a bit of a creative hiatus, but she’s trusting that the spark will come back. And when it does, she’ll be ready.
