Through 1STSHFTDAY and his company 1stShft Co., he’s built a platform that blends music, fashion, and community engagement — proving that creativity can be both personal and impactful.

1stShft’s music reflects his authenticity and versatility, combining lifestyle rap with gritty underground influences. From writing raps in school notebooks to freestyling in the car with his dad, he has always been driven by the need to create. Along the way, he launched his brand, producing everything from design to marketing, and hosting events that bring people together. How would you describe your style and sound?

I’d say it’s authentic lifestyle rap with a mix of gritty underground rap. Honestly, I can do a little bit of everything.

What inspired you to start creating music?

I was just trying to find a creative outlet. I used to write raps in my notebooks at school and freestyle with my dad on the way to Cincinnati. A couple of friends heard my work and told me to take it seriously — that’s when it started becoming more than a hobby.

Which artists inspired you growing up?

Master P, Cash Money, Curren$y, Jay Z, and Roc-A-Fella inspired me to hustle independently and invest in myself. Following their blueprint motivated me to start a brand and push my music through it.

How has hip hop helped bring the community together?

Events like Hip Hop In the Park, Louievolve, and 1STSHFTDAY bring people together and create energy, connection, and inspiration for the community.

What has been one of your proudest moments so far?

Our first 1STSHFTDAY event. It was the first time performing with the band and also the first time we did a cut-and-sew piece for the brand. That day felt magical — everything came together perfectly.

What keeps you motivated as an artist?

Honestly, I just love to create. It’s like a switch in my head I can’t turn off. The more I grow as a person, the more my music grows with me.

What’s the concept behind 1stShft?

It’s about getting up and going after your goals, no matter what they are. I want people to feel motivated to pursue their dreams, go as hard as possible, and always find a way. I try to be an example of that every day.
